Chris Hughton justify Partey's Omission from Ghana's 27-Man Squad for AFCON 2023

Black Stars Head Coach Chris Hughton has revealed the real reason why Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey was omitted from Ghana 27-man squad for 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Recall, Chris Hughton announced a list of 27 players on Monday with the omission of Thomas Partey which has raised so many questions from football fans and the media.

The Head Coach Chris Hughton has explained his omission, according to him, "Thomas Partey for sure, and I say this not in a detrimental way to the squad that we have, but he is one of our most important players. This we know and, withstanding Partey's injury, He would certainly be in the squad. We know the quality of the player. This is a player that has a substantial injury. I have spent a lot of time with Thomas and talked to the Arsenal medical Staff. The timelines of his recovery will not meet our timelines for AFCON."

The midfielder in recent time has struggled with injury but he's back to training with Arsenal's first team after recovering from a muscle injury.
