By Emmanuel Oladele - Two 2022 CAF Women's Champions League Matchday 1 Games were played from Group A on Sunday as the second edition of the competition kicks off in Morocco on Sunday.
In the first game of the day, Zambian Giants Green Buffaloes thrashed Liberian side Determine Girls by 4-0 to take their first three points of the competition. Ireen Lungu's brace and a goal each from Natasha Nanyangwe and Hellen Chanda sealed Buffaloes victory.
On the other hand, Ibtissam Jraidi's strike earned ASFAR Rabat a 1-0 win over debutants Simba Queens SC of Tanzania in the second game on Sunday. The win now put ASFAR Rabat on the second spot behind Green Buffaloes on Group A log, though, they both shared same number of points but the Zambian side are better with goal difference. Green Buffaloes' foward Ireen Lungu won the player of the match in their 4-0 thrashing of Determine Girls of Liberia, while ASFAR Rabat's Ibtissam Jraidi won the player of the match in their 1-0 victory over debutants Simba Queens SC of Tanzania.
