By Emmanuel Oladele - The Banyana Banyana of South Africa on Monday stunned the defending champions Super Falcons of Nigeria with a 2-1 defeat in a 2022 Women Africa Cup of Nations Group C first game.
After a goalless first half, Jermaine Seoposenwe gave the Mandela girls a well deserved lead in the 61st minute, two minutes later Hildah Tholakele Magaia doubled the lead for the determined South African side. It was a difficult game for the Super Falcons, but they managed to get a consolation in added time via Atletico Madrid forward Rasheedat Ajibade.
The dominance of the Super Falcons in Africa Women's Football is gradually coming to an end, though it's their first game of the competition, there are two more group games for the Super Falcons against Burundi and Botswana.
At the end of the entire game time, it's Nigeria 1-2 South Africa, so it ended in Rabat on Monday night.
