CAFCL: Algerian Champions eliminates Akwa United in first preliminary round

By Emmanuel Oladele - Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Champions Akwa United FC on Sunday were handed a 2-0 defeat in Algiers, they were defeated by Algerian Champions, CR Belouizdad in the second leg of CAF Champions League first preliminary round, thereby sending the Uyo based team out of this season CAF Champions League.

Recall, the first leg of the fixture ended 1-0 in Uyo days ago in favour of Nigerian Champions, leaving the scoreline in 2-1 on aggregate in favour of CR Belouizdad. Meanwhile, the Algerian Champions are through to the next round.
