The 23-year-old signed a 3-year deal with the Aba Elephants.
The attacking midfielder who joined FC Ifeanyi Ubah in July 2019 scored 8 league goals in the just concluded 2020/21 league season. Ekene has previously played for Nigerian club, Remo Stars.
With FC Ifeanyi Ubah relegated to the NNL, Ekene Awazie will continue to play in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), and will also feature with Enyimba in the CAF Confederation Cup which kick off soon.
