Italy: Immobile, Insigne scores in Euro 2021 vital victory

By Emmanuel Oladele - Lazio forward, Ciro Immobile and Napoli winger, Lorenzo Insigne were both on target for the Azzurri as Roberto Mancini led side got their vital opening game victory over Turkey at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Friday night, 3-0 it ended in favour of the Azzurri.

After a goalless first half, Italy got the first goal of the game in the 53rd minute, courtesy of an own goal from Turkey defender Merih Demiral. In the 66th minute Ciro Immobile doubled Italy's led via a powerful strike, before Napoli forward, Lorenzo Insigne sealed the victory for the Blues with a great goal after receiving a superb pass from Ciro Immobile in the 79th minute.

The Turkish side could not replied any of the goals and were condemned to a 3-0 defeat after 90 minutes.

Following Italy victory, they now top Group A with 3 points as the second group A game between Switzerland and Wales will be played on Saturday at the Baku Olympic Stadium in Azerbaijan at 14:00 Nigeria Time (+1 GMT).
