Patson Daka Nominated In a Caf Award Category

Zambia National team striker Patson Daka has been shortlisted for the 2017 CAF young player of the year award.

Daka, 19 was instrumental in Zambia U20 National team winning the 2017 U20 Africa cup of nations and reaching the quarter finals of the World cup.

The former Power Dynamos striker was also influential in Redbull Salzburg U19’s run to win the 2016/17 UEFA youth league. He scored on his debut of the competition against Barcelona in the semi-finals and again came from the bench to score in the final against Benfica.
Daka was voted player of the tournament at the Zambia 2017 U20 AFCON with four goals to his name.

Others nominated for that category are Ghana U17 captain Eric Ayiah,South Africa winger Luther Singh who emerged top-scorer at the CAF U20 African Cup of Nations and was also named in the Team of the tournament,Mali U17 prodigy Salam Giddou of Guidars who starred at the 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup finals and Senegal's Krepin Diatta completes the cast.

Arsenal youngster,Alexander Iwobi is the current holder of the award as the next winner will be announced on 4th of January 2018 in Accra Ghana.
