Foxes 2-0 Toffees : Rejuvenated Leicester City Add Salt To Everton Injury

Claude Puel got his Leicester City reign off to a winning start, while Brighton and Southampton shared the spoils in Sunday's Premier League action.

Claude Puel earned his first win as Leicester City boss as his side clinched a 2-0 win over struggling Everton on Sunday evening.

Jamie Vardy opened the scoring in the 18th minute by turning home Riyad Mahrez's cross, following a rapid counter attack. Demari Gray grabbed the hosts' second goals as his strike took a big deflection off Jonjoe Kenny and sailed past Jordan Pickford.

The Foxes have climbed to 11th place on the standings following their second successive win, while the Toffees are third from bottom with eight points from 10 games.

Claude Puel's charges visit Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium next Saturday while the Toffees host Watford on Sunday. Meanwhile, Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi played from start to finish as Kelechi Iheanacho was a last minute replacement for Jamie Vardy while Ahmed Musa yet again failed to make the matchday squad.

Elsewhere, Brighton and Hove Albion played 1 - 1 draw with Southampton in the Sunday early kick-off.
