Zambia 3-1 Algeria: Youthful Zambians Outclass Algeria

Zambia senior national team claimed an emphatic 3-1 victory over Algeria on Saturday in Lusaka for a place in Russia 2018.

Zambia started the match respecting the more experienced Visitors.

Zambia creates the first major opportunity when Chisamba Lungu corner kick was nodded by Brian Mwila onto the woodwork.

The opening goal finally arrive when Augustine Mulenga Pinpoint cross was headed clinically by the Platinum stars striker Brian Mwila in the 7th minute to give Zambia the lead.

The pacy Zambian frontline of Zanaco and platinum stars connection continued to trouble the slow Algerian defence until the 37th minute when the impressive Augustine Mulenga made a terrific run to lay the ball off for a Zambia player but the effort was not well dealt with by the Algerian defense fallign apart, M'Bolhi spilling it for Mwila in the box to tap home.

Algeria trying to stage a comeback in the second half when Yassim Brahimi fired in from the edge of the box giving Kennedy Mweene no chance in the 53rd minute. Things took a new dimension when Fashion Sakala received a reckless second yellow card in the 56th minute.

Enoch 'Computer' Mwepu came in as substitute to score the third for the 10-man Chipolopolo in the 89th minute to seal a comprehensive victory for Zambia against the much fancied Algerians.
The victory means Zambia are now second on the Group B table with 4points, two points more than Cameroon,three more than Algeria while five less than Super Eagles of Nigeria who are topping the table with 9points.
