Lions almost devour Eagles in Yaoundé but the Eagles were wise enough to fly. The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Monday evening had another wonderful display in Yaoundé, Cameroon but the roaring of the Lions almost tore the Super Eagles apart.

In the second leg of the third round of Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, the Super Eagles of Nigeria played a one-all draw with the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon. The Super Eagles of Nigeria started the game slowly before they were able to established themselves in the tight encounter.
22-year-old KAA Gent of Belgium attacker opened scoring for Nigeria in the 30th minute of the first half, thanks to a perfect assist from Odion Ighalo. The Eagles were much more alive in the first half missing several goal scoring chances.

The Indomitable Lions look so much determined in the second half with the kind of flair they brought into the game, the Eagles were managing the pressure until there was a collision between Nigeria Goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa and a Cameroonian in Nigeria 18-yard-box, referee Bakary Papa Gassama adjudged the case to be a penalty in favour the Indomitable Lions and Vincent Aboubakar sending Ikechukwu Ezenwa to a wrong direction to bring the Lions back into the game in the 75th minute.

The pace of Nigeria Victor Moses was a big threat to the Cameroonians but they did their best to prevent the Chelsea man from causing another damage.

The introduction of some fresh legs by Gernot Rohr could not change the situation for Nigeria in the second half.

Nigeria now top Group B with 10 points and Cameroon is in 3rd Position with 3 points from 4 games.

In another Group B encounter, Algeria will host Zambia on Tuesday by 8:30pm Nigeria Time.
