Super Eagles Overshadow Benin Republic To Qualify For CHAN

Super Eagles of Nigeria turn the table against next door neighbours Benin Republic in a CHAN 2018 qualifier on the artificial turf of Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.

Two goals was what the Super Eagles needed after a disappointing 0-1 defeat in the first leg that was played in Cotonou last Sunday.

Kano Pillars playmaker, Rabiu Ali finished off a good interchange of passes between him,Stephen Odey and Muazam in the 22nd minute to give Nigeria the lead and replay shows he was a couple of yards offside.

Enyimba left-back Chima Akas rattled the post with a free-kick with less than five minutes left in the first half as Nigeria finished the half with a slim lead.
Kingsley Eduwo doubled Nigeria lead in the 47th minute when he flings himself at Okoro's cross to nod pass the Benin Goalkeeper for Nigeria's second goal.

The biggest moment of the match came when Kingsley Eze was penalized by the referee for handling the ball in the box.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah Goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa stopped the spot-kick to ensure that Nigeria qualify for their third consecutive CHAN Tournament and the 2018 edition will take place in Kenya.
