International Friendly : USA 2-1 Ghana

Ghana ended their their tour of America with a deserved 2-1 defeat to USA in Harford,Connecticut on Saturday in the presence of 28,754 football fans.
With the squad featuring mostly MLS players as manager Bruce Arena opted to give rest to his big guns, it was a thorough performance against a tricky, speedy side that should leave fans feeling pretty good about the cup, which begins next week.

Dwyer, born in England and a U.S. citizen as of March, got the start up top and didn't take long to make an impact, scoring his first goal for the country in less than 20 minutes, rifling home from close range.

With both sides creating chances, the U.S. made it 2-0 early in the second half off this fine free kick from Kellyn Acosta. Black Stars Captain Asamoah Gyan playing his first penalty in five years was denied by goalkeeper Brad Guzan but he made amends by rifling home a free-kick.

It was his 51st international goal after scoring last month in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia. Both teams had chances, but the U.S.A were able to control the game, frustrate the Africans and hold on to a result that has to feel good. Recall that Ghana lost 0-1 to Mexico late June.
