Patson Daka Goal Crown Salzburg UEFA Youth Champion

Zambian youngster Patson Daka came off the bench and scored to help Salzburg of Austria beat Benfica of Portugal 2 – 1 to win the 2017 UEFA Youth League.

Only playing his second game of the competition, the Zambian prodigy made it two goals in two games as he pushed his team to gold following another impressive substitute appearance that saw him score the winner against Barcelona in the semi final.

Benfica led through a Jose Gomes strike in the 29th minute and they held the lead through the break. As they pushed for a goal, Salzburg introduced Daka in the 55th minute and the U20 World Cup bound striker did not dissapoint as he netted in the 72nd minute. Salzburg added another goal four minutes later and held on to he end to complete an amazing run in the competition. The 19 year old has had an awesome run that has seen him win three gold medals in the past five months. Recall that he won the regional U-20 Cosafa championship and the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations. He will be representing Zambia at the FIFA Under twenty World Cup in South Korea which kicks off in May.
The teenager will also be in contention for the Youth Player of the year nomination alongside Most promising talent of the year in the next Caf awards at these rate.
