Opposition Watch : Algeria Appoint Former Granada Coach

Spaniard Lucas Alcaraz has been appointed the new coach of Desert Foxes of Algeria.

The 50-year-old appointment came just few days after losing his job as Granada Coach and he will be replacing Belgian George Leekens who lost his Job after a poor Afcon outing earlier in the year. Algeria are appointing the fourth manager in just Over a year and the new coach will be having a tough task in making the Brazil 2014 participants get back on track for the 2018 edition as they are trailing Group leader Nigeria by 5-points. Former Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka was also been linked to the position.

Alcaraz's first competitive match in charge will be against visiting Togo as Algeria begin their qualifying campaign for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
