In the course of this season, Chelsea have lost two legends in John Obi Mikel and Branislav Ivanovic. And with John Terry set to leave at the end of this season, the last of the Jose Mourinho first era will be over at Chelsea, and the current set of players will prove themselves to be regarded as legends at the club.
Antonio Conte, in his pre-match press conference for their semi final FA cup tie with Tottenham admitted that he’d have to replace these three players at the end of the season.
He said: “It is not easy because don’t forget this season some players very important for this team that wrote a lot of history with this club. “Ivanovic, Mikel and next season also John. It is not easy to find the right replacement. It is for this reason that I have continued to speak that we have to build and start to build and embrace these players to stay here for many years and achieve many great results for this club. Now we have to find the players to replace these great players and then write again the history for the club. But this task won’t be easy and I hope everyone understands this.”
