Former Manchester United Winger Wilfried Zaha is set to switch his international allegiance to African champions Cote d'Ivoire after failing to establish himself with the Three Lions, reports in England indicate.
Having been capped twice by England, but during friendly games, the 24-year-old winger is believed to be open to playing for the Elephants in a move that could see him serve as a replacement for injured Gervinho at the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
The Crystal Palace star had turned down advances from the West Africans especially with efforts of Didier Drogba before first playing for the Three Lions in November 2012. He has however not received a call-up since playing a second game for them in 2013.
Yao Gervinho will not be at the AFCON after sustaining a serious knee injury in October that is likely to keep him on the sidelines for up to six months.
The Hebei Fortune of China star, who has netted 22 goals in 79 caps for his country, missed the 0:0 World Cup qualifying draw in Morocco earlier this month.
