Nigeria’s Flying Eagles are set for a tough test at the upcoming Africa U20 Cup of Nations, after being drawn into Group B alongside Morocco, Kenya, and Tunisia. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Egypt from April 27th to May 18th, 2025.
The seven-time African champions, led by head coach Ladan Bosso, will aim to not only make a deep run in the tournament but also secure qualification for the FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile later this year. A semifinal berth in Egypt would be enough to punch their ticket to the global showpiece, set to run from September 27th to October 19th.
Currently, the Flying Eagles are fine-tuning their preparations in Abuja following a three-week intensive training camp held in Katsina. The team is expected to depart for Egypt this week for an eight-day final preparation phase ahead of the competition’s kickoff.
With a rich history in the tournament and a reputation for producing top talent, expectations remain high for Nigeria to make their mark once again on the continental stage.
