Botswana’s sprint sensation Letsile Tebogo thrilled the home crowd at the Botswana Golden Grand Prix with a dominant win in the men’s 200m, clocking 20.23 seconds into a headwind (-1.6 m/s).
The Olympic gold medallist showcased his trademark speed and poise, holding off strong competition from Luxolo Adams of South Africa, who finished second in 20.42s, and Belgium’s Kobe Vleminickx, who took third in 20.45s.
Tebogo’s win was met with loud cheers from the Gaborone crowd, as the 21-year-old continues to sharpen his form ahead of a high-stakes season that includes the World Championships and Olympic preparations.
