Dalilah Muhammad Shines with 400m Hurdles Victory at Botswana Golden Grand Prix
Olympic champion Dalilah Muhammad made a statement in Gaborone on Saturday, taking a commanding win in the women’s 400m hurdles at the Botswana Golden Grand Prix with a swift time of 53.81 seconds.
The American star, known for her dominance in the event, showed her class once again as she comfortably crossed the line ahead of fellow countrywoman Cassandra Tate, who finished second in 55.59 seconds. South Africa’s Zeney Geldenhuys rounded out the podium in third, clocking 56.10 seconds.
This performance marks a strong early-season showing for Muhammad, as she builds momentum ahead of a crucial year that includes both the World Athletics Championships and Olympic qualification stakes. Her time of 53.81s, while shy of her personal best (52.16s), reflects her trademark rhythm and race control.
With the international athletics calendar heating up, Muhammad’s form will be closely watched as she continues her push toward reclaiming global gold and potentially lowering her own world-class marks.
