Pyramids reclaimed the top spot in the Egyptian Premier League with a dramatic 1-0 away win against Smouha, courtesy of a stoppage-time goal from veteran center-back Ali Gabr. They now sit just one point ahead of African champions Al Ahly, who secured a narrow 2-1 victory over Petrojet in Cairo. Goals from Emam Ashour and new Slovenian signing Nejc Gradisar sealed the win, with Ahmed Farouk scoring a late consolation for Petrojet. Gradisar has been impressive since joining from Fehervar in Hungary, netting three goals in as many games.
Zamalek remain in third place, four points behind Pyramids, after a 2-0 victory over Ismailia despite being reduced to 10 men following Nasser Maher’s red card. Goals from Mostafa Shalaby and Nabil Emad secured the win. El Gouna moved off the bottom of the table with a goalless draw against El Geish, joining ENPPI and Modern in a three-way tie on seven points in the relegation zone.
TANZANIA
Simba dropped unexpected points with a 1-1 draw against Fountain Gate, allowing arch-rivals Young Africans (Yanga) to claim the top spot with 45 points after a dominant 6-1 victory over KenGold. Despite the sudden departure of coach Sead Ramovic to Chabab Belouizdad in Algeria, Yanga showed resilience. Simba had led their match, but an own goal from Ladack Chasambi cost them vital points.

Mamelodi Sundowns pulled clear of Orlando Pirates with a commanding 4-1 home win in Pretoria, extending their lead to nine points at the top of the Premier League. Sundowns boast a remarkable 42 points from 14 wins in 15 games, with Brazilian Lucas Ribeiro netting twice to underline their dominance. Pirates sit second with 33 points, while Polokwane City are third with 29 after a 2-0 defeat to Richards Bay. Sekhukhune United reclaimed fourth place with a 1-1 draw against SuperSport United, while Kaizer Chiefs climbed to fifth after a 1-0 win over Stellenbosch, thanks to a debut goal from new signing Glody Lilepo.

Stade d’Abidjan maintained their three-point lead in Ligue 1 with a 3-0 away win over Inova Sporting Club Association. Goals from Adama Bayo, Cheick Moukoro, and veteran Roger Assale secured their fourth consecutive league victory, moving them to 36 points. Academie Football Amadou Diallo sit second after a 2-1 win over ASEC Mimosas, with Fulgence Kouadio and Ibrahim Kone on target. ASEC’s consolation came from Souleymane Fofana, but they moved up to third on goal difference after Stella Adjame’s 3-0 loss to Racing Abidjan.

Real de Banjul continued their strong form with a 1-0 away win over Fortune, giving them a three-point lead at the top of the First Division. Hart Academy are second after an impressive 4-2 victory over Team Rhino. With the league now a third of the way through the season, the race for the title is heating up.
