The league, which kicked off on November 30, 2024, in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, went on a festive pause after three weeks of competitive action.
Standout Performances Before the Break
At the end of Matchday 3, several teams had established themselves as early frontrunners across the league’s four conferences:
- Conference A: Abia Comets of Umuahia lead with 7 points.
- Conference B: Debutants Kun-Khalifat Football Club of Owerri have impressed with a perfect record of three wins in three games.
- Conference C: Wikki Tourists of Bauchi sit at the top with 7 points.
- Conference D: Basira Football Club of Lafia, Nasarawa State, lead their group.
NNL Leadership Pleased with Progress
George Aluo, Chairman of the NNL, expressed satisfaction with the league's smooth start and reiterated the league’s commitment to upholding high standards.
“We are going to maintain best standards in the league and ensure we have a worthy champion at the end of the season,” Aluo stated.
The league’s Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Ayo Abdulrahaman, also commended the clubs for a hitch-free start to the season while encouraging them to be ready for the challenges ahead as the league resumes with Matchday 4.
