Madagascar Secures CHAN 2024 Finals Spot, Eyes Glory in February 2025

Madagascar has secured its place in the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals, despite a 1-0 loss to Eswatini in the second leg of their qualifying tie. The aggregate score of 2-1 in favor of Madagascar ensures their progression to the tournament scheduled for early February 2025, co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

The decisive match took place on December 29, 2024, at the Côte d’Or Stadium in Mauritius. Eswatini managed to clinch a victory with a solitary goal, but it wasn't sufficient to overturn the two-goal deficit from the first leg, where Madagascar had secured a 2-0 win.

This achievement marks Madagascar's second consecutive qualification for the CHAN finals. In their debut appearance, they impressively secured the bronze medal, signaling their growing prominence in African football.

The Barea's consistent performance underscores their determination to make a significant impact in the upcoming tournament. As they prepare for the CHAN 2024 finals, the team and their supporters are optimistic about building on their previous success and aiming for higher accolades on the continental stage.

The CHAN tournament, which features national teams composed exclusively of players active in their domestic leagues, provides a platform for showcasing local talent. Madagascar's back-to-back qualifications reflect the strength and potential of their domestic football infrastructure.

As the countdown to the CHAN 2024 finals continues, Madagascar's national team will be focusing on rigorous preparations to compete against Africa's elite and strive for excellence in the forthcoming championship.
