Esther Opeyemi Ajakaye Joins Kansas City Current, Goes on Loan to Caroline Ascent FC

Kansas City Current has bolstered its attacking options with the signing of Nigerian striker Esther Opeyemi Ajakaye. The 19-year-old forward, who previously played for FC Robo and Madrid CFF, joins the growing list of African talent at the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club. She becomes the fourth African player on the roster, alongside Temwa Chawinga (Malawi), Hildah Magaia (South Africa), and Adam Jereko (Kenya).  

Known for her speed and goal-scoring prowess, Ajakaye has been a standout performer at both the club and international levels. At Madrid CFF, she honed her skills in one of Europe’s top leagues, earning recognition as one of Africa's emerging football talents.
