CAF Boosts Women’s Champions League with Increased Prize Money for Morocco 2024

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that each of the eight participating teams in the CAF Women’s Champions League Morocco 2024 will receive a minimum of USD 150,000 in prize money. This increase is part of CAF’s ongoing commitment to promoting and investing in women’s football across Africa. 

Since its inception in 2021 under the leadership of Dr. Patrice Motsepe, the CAF Women’s Champions League has seen significant growth in both support and prize money. This year, the total prize pool has risen by 52% to USD 2.35 million, a boost intended to make the competition more attractive and to further elevate the level of African women’s football.

The prize distribution for the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League is as follows:
- Winner: USD 600,000
- Runner-up: USD 400,000
- 3rd Place: USD 350,000
- 4th Place: USD 300,000
- 3rd in Group Stage: USD 200,000 each
- 4th in Group Stage: USD 150,000 each

CAF has expressed a strong commitment to developing women's football through initiatives such as investing in youth academies for both boys and girls. Dr. Motsepe’s vision includes increasing prize money across all CAF competitions, creating opportunities for African clubs and players to thrive on a global stage.
