Ademola Lookman Ruled Out of Rwanda Clash, Returns to Italy for Assessment

Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman will miss the Super Eagles’ final AFCON qualifier against Rwanda after suffering a knock in Thursday's draw against Benin Republic. . The player has returned to Italy for further medical assessment, ruling him out of the game.  

Lookman, who has been a key figure for the national team, is reportedly dealing with fitness concerns that require attention at his club. Fans and teammates alike are wishing him a speedy recovery. Nigeria, already qualified for the 2025 AFCON, will aim to finish the qualifiers on a strong note in his absence.

In addition, defender Ola Aina has returned to England at the request of Nottingham Forest. The Premier League club asked Coach Austin Eguavoen to release Aina early to prepare for their upcoming match against Arsenal.
