NPFL Board Approves 11 Stadiums for Live Broadcast in 2024/25 Season, Sets Guidelines for Night Matches

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Board has officially approved 11 stadiums for live television coverage during the 2024 season. This decision was made during the Board’s meeting held on September 29, 2024. The approved stadiums include renowned venues such as Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, Enyimba International Stadium in Aba, and Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, among others.

The initiative is aimed at ensuring that top-quality venues host live televised matches, enhancing the viewing experience for fans and promoting the league's visibility. To maintain fairness, all clubs must ensure equal distribution of their home matches, giving fans across the country access to televised games.

Additionally, the Board implemented guidelines for clubs hosting night matches, where each club will receive ₦500,000 per match for broadcast support. However, this amount will be deducted from the club's share of the broadcast rights revenue at the end of the season.

For clubs whose stadiums are not listed, they are required to select one from the approved venues, or the league will assign one on their behalf. This move is expected to boost the overall quality and consistency of the NPFL broadcasts for the 2024/25 season.
