In a hard-fought 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier, Zimbabwe secured a narrow 1-0 win against Namibia. The game, played on October 6, 2024, at Orlando Stadium in Soweto, was decided by a Khama Billiat penalty in the 34th minute. Billiat, who recently came out of international retirement, calmly converted the spot kick after Namibia’s Kennedy Amutenya committed a foul in the box.
Namibia started the game strongly, with Amutenya and Prins Tjiueza coming close to scoring, but they were denied by the woodwork on two occasions. Despite Namibia's dominance in possession and multiple attempts to equalize in the second half, Zimbabwe's defense stood firm under mounting pressure.
