In an impressive start to the FIBA Africa Zone 3 Qualifiers in Abidjan, the Nigeria U18 boys' basketball team secured a decisive 47-72 victory over Ghana. The Ghanaian squad, fielding only six players, faced a challenging game exacerbated by foul issues. Their numbers dwindled as they struggled with fouls, leading to periods of play with just four or even three players on the court. The game eventually had to be terminated under FIBA regulations when Ghana was reduced to only two players.
Looking ahead, the Nigeria U18 girls’ team is set to face Liberia today. The anticipation is high as the competition heats up in the ongoing qualifiers.
