The Super Falcons of Nigeria on Tuesday held the Bayana Bayana of South Africa to a goalless draw in the second leg of the final qualifying round of the 2024 Paris Olympics Football Event in Pretoria to qualify for the main event.
Recall, the Randy Waldrum side won the first leg in Abuja by 1-0 courtesy of Rasheedat Ajibade spot kick, leaving the scoreline in 1-0 on aggregate over the two legs.
Nigeria have now picked one of the two tickets available for Africa in the 2024 Paris Olympics Women's Football Events. Meanwhile, the game between Morocco and Zambia will decide who picks the second ticket available for Africa.
The last time the Super Falcons appeared in the Olympics was in Beijing 2008, but makes return in 2024. Congratulations to the Super Falcons of Nigeria.
Nigeria will play in Group C alongside Brazil, Japan and Spain.
