Kennedy Boboye is officially the new Technical Adviser of Sunshine Stars FC of Akure. The tactician left Heartland recently following the order of Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma to reinstate former coach Christian Obi as the Technical Adviser of the Nazi Millionaires, leading to Kennedy parting ways with Heartland FC after his heroic 3-1 win over Remo Stars in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Matchday 16.
Sunshine Stars FC took to their official X handle on Thursday afternoon to announce and unveil Kennedy Boboye who has also coached Plateau United in the past as their new gaffer. The coach succeeded Edith Agoye who recently parted ways with the Akure Gunners.
Sunshine Stars FC are currently 14th on the NPFL Log after 19 games, Boboye will hope to turn things around for Akure based team when the NPFL resumes from break on February 17th. His first challenge will be against Kwara United on Sunday February 18th at the Akure Township Stadium.
The 50-year-old started his coaching career with Sunshine Stars FC in 2015, and has also managed Abia Warriors, Plateau United, Remo Stars, Akwa United and Heartland FC before rejoining Sunshine Stars.
