The coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Jose Peseiro has released an official statement concerning the goalkeeper that will be in goal when Nigeria face Angola on Friday in the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final game. There has been concerns on whether Super Eagles AFCON first choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali will be fit for the game. Recall, the Chippa United Goalkeeper picked up an injury in Nigeria's 2-0 round of 16 win over Cameroon on Saturday.
Also, the fear of Francis Uzoho's errors and mistakes has also generated so much talks, many Nigerians are scared of having him in goal in the quarter-final. Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro has released an official statement citing that Nwabali will undergo a late fitness test, perhaps he fails, he believes in the other two goalkeepers, Ojo and Uzoho.
According to the Portuguese tactician, "We have to wait for a late fitness test today, if he is not ready, I have other goalkeepers (Uzoho and Ojo). I believe and trust all my goalkeepers, if Nwabali is not fit, I trust Uzoho," Jose Peseiro said.
The game will hold tomorrow Friday at the Stade Félix Houphouet-Boigny in Abijan, 6:00pm Nigeria Time. A win for the Super Eagles of Nigeria will send them into the semi-final of the competition.
