AFCON 2023: Nigeria Group Stage Fixtures, Date, Time, Venue, Brief History and Other Details

By Emmanuel Oladele - It's 18 days to the kickoff of the 35 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d' Ivoire, the Super Eagles of Nigeria is one of the 24 Nations that will be taking part in the Biennial tournament which kicks off from the 13th of January to 11th of February, 2024. Nigeria is in Group A alongside Host Cote d' Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau. Below are the details for the Group fixtures of the Nigeria's Super Eagles;

AFCON 2023 SUPER EAGLES OF NIGERIA GROUP FIXTURES 

• Sun. 14/01. Nigeria vs Equatorial Guinea 15:00 WAT. (Olympic Stadium of Ebimpé).

• Thu. 18/01. Ivory Coast vs Nigeria 18:00 WAT. (Olympic Stadium of Ebimpé).

• Mon. 22/01. Guinea-Bissau vs Nigeria 18:00 WAT. (Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny, Abijan)

Since Nigeria first appearance in 1963, the Super Eagles have attended 20 Africa Cup of Nations so far, and was only victorious on three occasions; 1980, 1994 and 2013.

Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro is expected to release the list of final 28 that will represent Nigeria in the 2023 edition of AFCON, on or before CAF deadline, January 3rd.
