By Olamide Oyetunji - Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong has completed a transfer move to Greek side PAOK on a permanent deal until 2026.

The announcement was made via the club website on Tuesday.

The Nigerian signed a three-year contract that would see play feature a defensive force at the Toumba Stadium until June 2026.

“PAOK announces the acquisition of William Troost-Ekong by transfer from Watford. The Nigerian stopper has signed a contract until June 2026 and will wear the number 15 shirt,” the statement reads.

The 29-year-old was on loaned to Italian Serie A outfit Salernitana for six months last season and played a crucial role as the club miraculously escaped relegation in the latter stage of the campaign.

Troost-Ekong joined Watford from Udinese in 2020 gaining promotion with them to the Premier League the following year.

The team however suffered relegation after only a season.
