Nigerian duo crash out of UEFA Europa Conference League

By Emmanuel Oladele - Nigeria's duo of Terem Moffi and Gift Orban have crashed out of the UEFA Europa Conference League, as their teams OGC Nice and Gent were eliminated in the competition quarter-final second leg on Thursday night.

Terem Moffi's OGC Nice had a 2-1 home loss loss against Basel last night, recall the French side played a 2-2 draw in the first leg before the second leg defeat, OGC Nice were eliminated on a 4-3 aggregate scoreline. The Super Eagles forward was instrumental to Nice 2-2 draw in the first leg, scoring both goals, but was unable to make so much impact in the second leg, and was replaced with Nicolas Pépé in the 73rd minute.

For Gift Orban, his side Gent were thrashed 4-1 in the second leg last night by West Ham United after playing a 1-1 draw in the first leg last week in Belgium, Gent were eliminated on a 5-2 aggregate scoreline. The Nigerian striker could not prevent his side from the heavy hammer of the English side, and was replaced with Moroccan International Tarik Tissoudali in the 70th minute of the encounter.

Both forwards were instrumental to their sides journey to the quarter-final, but were unable to prevent them from the quarter-final exit.
