Meet 15-year-old Anongu Aondoaka, a SS 1 Student who is part of Nigeria U-17 to 2023 AFCON

By Emmanuel Oladele - Anongu Isaac Aondoaka is a 15-year-old Senior Secondary School Student (SS 1) of David Hall International College, Lagos. Isaac made the 26-man squad of the Golden Eaglets that will represent Nigeria at the 2023 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria.

According to an unconfirmed report, the player was discovered during School Football match by a scout.

The 15-year-old currently play for FC Bethel Sporting under age team in Ebute Metta, Lagos.

Anongu Isaac Aondoaka is a midfielder and a great talent who will be instrumental to the Golden Eaglets quest for glory at the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Nigeria U-17 are in Group B alongside Morocco, South Africa and Zambia. The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria will open their campaign in the tournament on Sunday 30th May, 2023 against Zambia U-17 at Stade Mohamed-Hamlaoui in Constantine, 17:00 Nigeria Time (+1 GMT).

The tournament will hold between 29th April to 19th May 2023 in Algeria. 12 Teams from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) are participating in the competition.
