The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has declared Friday 21st and Monday 24th April, 2023 as public holidays for the Muslim Faithfuls to celebrate this year Eid-il-Fitr.
In a statement signed by Shuiab Belgore the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, revealed that Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola (Minister of Interior) declares the two days holiday on behalf of the Federal Government.
The Minister congratulated all Muslim Faithfuls for the success of Ramadan and urges them to "imbibe and practise the virtues of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, self-denial, sacrifice and good neighbourliness, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).
"The self-restraint, self-denial, sacrifice and deep spiritual consciousness that accompanied the fasting period should not end but be maintained and improved upon, in order to be a better person and true worshipper," Aregbesola added.
