By Emmanuel Oladele - Manchester City on Thursday's night outclassed Liverpool by 3-2 in Carabao Cup Round of 16.
Manchester City took the lead in the early minutes of the game through Erling Haaland super strike, ten minutes later, Fábio Carvalho levelled the game for the Reds to end the first half of the game on a 1-1 scoreline.
The second half resumed with Riyad Mahrez scoring the second goal for Pep Guardiola's led side just two minutes into the half. One minute later, Liverpool got an equaliser via Mohamed Salah.
In the 58th Minutes Liverpool defence failed to handle Nathan Ake's set piece goal that earned the Sky Blues a superb win in the Carabao Cup round of 16. City held unto their lead until the end of regulation time and they got their first competitive game win after the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne who had a failed display in the just concluded world cup was fantastic for his side on Thursday's night, assisting Haaland and Nathan Ake for their goals.
Following Manchester City 3-2 victory over Liverpool, the Guardiola led side are though to the 2022/23 season Carabao Cup final 8.
