All 20 Teams for 2022/23 NPFL Season & their Approved Home Ground - Nigeria Football

By Emmanuel Oladele - As usual 20 teams will be playing in the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL 2022/23 season, in an abridged league format. Four of those teams namely; Doma United, Bayelsa United, El-Kanemi Warriors and Bendel Insurance are the new teams that recently gained promotion from the Nigeria National League, NNL, in the just concluded season.

Meanwhile, five teams namely; Kwara United, Niger Tornadoes, Lobi Stars, Nasarawa United and Rangers International failed requirements expected of their stadia,  and will now play their home games on adopted Grounds. Below are all 20 clubs that will be competing in the NPFL 2022/23 season and their approved home grounds;

1. Dakkada FC (Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo)

2. Bendel Insurance (Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City)

3. Bayelsa United (Samson Siasia Sports Stadium, Yenagoa)

4. Akwa United (Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo)

5. Shooting Stars SC (Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan)


6. Kwara United (Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan)

7. Sunshine Stars (Akure Township Stadium, Akure)

8. Doma United FC (Pantami Stadium, Gombe)

9. Plateau United (New Jos Township Stadium, Jos)

10. Rivers United (Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Portharcourt)

11. Wikki Tourists (Abubarkar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi)

12. Lobi Stars (New Jos Township Stadium, Jos)

13. Nasarawa United (New Jos Township Stadium, Jos)

14. Rangers International (Awka City Stadium, Enugu)

15. Enyimba International (Enyimba International Stadium, Aba)

17. El-Kanemi Warriors (El-Kanemi Stadium,Maiduguri)

The 2022/23 season will kick off on 8th January, 2023.
