The First Shocker of 2022 FIFA World Cup, Underdogs Saudi Arabia beat Messi's Argentina in Group C Opener

By Emmanuel Oladele - Underdogs Saudi Arabia on Tuesday gave Tournament's favourite Argentina a shocker in the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar as they beat the South Americans by 2-1 in Group C Opener. No one expected the Saudi Arabians to win the encounter, it's the first time underdogs team will beat a top team since the kickoff of 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Argentina star Lionel Messi opened scoring from the spot for the South Americans in the 10th minute of the first 45 minutes to give the Argentines a 1-0 first half lead, but the Asian side were well prepared and determined in the second half. Saleh Alshehri got Saudi Arabia an equaliser in the 48th minute, five minutes later Salem Aldawsari gave the Asian team the lead which also condemned the Lionel Messi's led side to a 2-1 defeat in their first game in Qatar.

Saudi Arabians defended well and maintained their 2-1 lead until the end of the game. See detailed result below;

At the end of the game, it's Argentina 1-2 Saudi Arabia, so it ended at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Group C opener on Tuesday.
