By Emmanuel Oladele - Ecuador's Captain Enner Remberto Valencia scored twice in the open game of Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup to earn the South Americans a vital 2-0 win over host nation Qatar. The Fenerbahçe forward scored Ecuador's oepening goal from the spot in the 16th minute after Qatar Goalkeeper Al Sheeb brought him down in his own area, the Referee immediately pointed to the spot for a spot kick which was well placed by Valencia, sending Al Sheeb to a wrong direction.
Recall, earlier in the game, Ecuador scored an early goal in the opening three minutes of the first half via Valencia's super header but was ruled offside.
At the end of the game, it's Qatar 0-2 Ecuador, so it ended in 2022 FIFA World Cup opener on Sunday.
