Enner Valencia Scores Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup first goal

By Emmanuel Oladele - Ecuador's Captain Enner Remberto Valencia has scored the first goal of Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, the Fenerbahçe forward scored from the spot in the 16th minute of the opening game between Qatar and Ecuador.

Qatar Goalkeeper Al Sheeb brought down Enner Valencia in his own area and the Referee immediately pointed to the spot for a spot kick which was well placed by Valencia, sending Al Sheeb to a wrong direction.

Earlier in the game, the 33-year-old Valencia had his first goal via a superb header, but was cancelled in the third minute of the first half after VAR check, the goal was ruled offside.

As at the time of this update, Valencia has doubled Ecuador's lead in the 31st to keep the scoreline at 2-0 at halftime.
