Daweti's brace sink Bayelsa Queens in CAF WCL Group B Opener against Mamelodi Sundowns

By Emmanuel Oladele - In the ongoing 2022 CAF Women's Champions League, defending Champions and South African side Mamelodi Sundowns defeated Nigeria Women's Football League Champions Bayelsa Queens by 2-1, Lelona Daweti's brace condemned the Nigerian side to the first defeat in Group B opening game on Monday.

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies forward Lelona Daweti scored in each half to get the defending Champions to a winning start.

Bayelsa Queens did well to turn the game around toward the end of regulation time, but could only get a consolation via Mary-Magdalene Anjor's powerful strike. See detailed result below;
