NPFL Clubs Rivers United, Plateau United get CAF Confederation Cup Playoff Round Opponents

By Emmanuel Oladele - Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Clubs Rivers United and Plateau United will face Libyan Giants Al Nasr Benghazi and Al Akhdar respectively in the CAF Confederation playoff round two legged tie.

Recall, the two NPFL clubs Rivers United and Plateau United bowed out of the CAF Champions League over the weekend in the competition second preliminary round, and dropped to the CAF Confederation Cup playoff round.

According to the draw released by CAF, the first leg will hold on 2nd November, while the second leg hold 9th November, 2022.

Rivers United are expected to host Al Nasr Benghazi at the Adokiye Amiesimaka in Portharcourt on Wednesday 2nd of November, while the second leg hold on Wednesday 9th November in Libya.

Also, Plateau United will play Al Akhdar at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Wednesday November 2nd, before the second leg in Libya on 9th November 2022. See details below;

The winners on aggregate of the two legged tie will progress to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
