2022 FIFA U20 WWC: Nigeria's Falconets beat South Korea to Progress to Quarter-Final

By Emmanuel Oladele - In the early hours of Monday, the Nigeria U20 Women National Team, the Falconets, defeated their South Korean Counterparts in their Matchday 2 of the 2022 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup in Costa Rica. After a delayed kickoff due to heavy downpour in Alajuela, the game started at around 22:13 WAT, instead of 21:00 WAT.

Esther Chinemerem Onyenezide's long range effort from outside the 18-yard box was enough to earn Nigeria the deserved victory in an encounter the Falconets so much dominated. The midfielder received a solo pass from Cristabel Okwuchukwu, and propelled the a long ball past South Korean Goalkeeper Kyeong-hee Kim in the 83rdd minute. See match details below;
