By Emmanuel Oladele - The Falconets of Nigeria in the early hours of Thursday thrashed Canada U20 National Women's Team by 3-1 to top Group C of the ongoing 2022 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup in Costa Rica.
Falconets' midfielder Esther Chinemerem Onyenezide scored twice from the spot to cancel Canada early lead in the game. Nigeria got the first spot kick after a Canadian defender block a shot towards the net with her arm in her own area, while the second came when a Canada player kicked a Falconet on the head, Onyenezide made no mistake in converting the two kick in the 24th and 32nd minute respectively. Before Nigeria's first two goal, the Canadians took an early lead via Kaila Novak Strike in the second minute of the game.
Substitute Chioma Olise completes Falconets 3-1 thrashing of Canada in the added time after lashing unto Imuran cross from the left wing to give the Danjuma led side a comfortable lead in the game. See detailed results below;
