By Emmanuel Oladele - Glasgow Rangers have confirmed that Nigerian International Calvin Bassey has left the club to join Netherlands top side AFC Ajax. The Scottish Cup Champions confirmed Bassey's departure on their official Twitter page in a post which reads as follows; Rangers FC can today confirm Calvin Bassey has joined AFC Ajax in a deal which is the largest in Rangers’ history.
Calvin leaves with best wishes from everyone at Rangers and we thank him for his hard work and commitment over the past two seasons."
The defender joined AFC Ajax on permanent deal. According to Sky Sport News, "the fee is £19.6m (€23m) but with add-ons could rise to £22.7m (€26.5m) with the deal also thought to include a 10 per cent sell-on fee.#RangersFC can today confirm @CalvinBassey has joined @AFCAjax in a deal which is the largest in Rangers’ history.

After signing a five-year deal, the 22-year-old will remain in Ajax until 2027. He has arrived Austria where the Eredivisie Champions are currently camping ahead of the new season.
