WAFU B U17: Five Golden Eaglets in WAFU U17 Team of the Tournament

By Emmanuel Oladele - Five of the victorious Golden Eaglets in the just concluded WAFU B U17 Championship in Ghana have been named in the team of the Tournament, they are; Richard Odoh, Emmanuel Michael, Abubakar Idris, Yahaya Lawali and Jeremiah Olaleke. Golden Eaglets caoch Uduka Ugbade also emerged as the Coach of the Tournament after his side produced a mind-blowing performance. See the team of the Tournament below;



• Richard Odoh (GK) - He was the man of the match in Nigeria's 2-1 win over Burkina Faso in the final game. Richard was able to control his area in all the games, His ability to deal with aerial balls is also impressive. He could just be the future of the Super Eagles.

• Emmanuel Michael (LB) - The left-back is the best free-kick taker in the Tournament, Michael won three man of the match in the four games he played. He's the most valuable player in the Tournament. He scored three goals in the Tournament with direct free-kick and his superb cross set up Idris for Nigeria's first goal in the final. He did well defensively and very supportive in the attack.


• Yahaya Lawali (RB) - He very energetic, impressive defensively and added so much value to Nigeria's attack.

• Abubakar Abdullahi Idris (CF) - He has superb scoring ability, good positioning. He's very strong, and  was a huge threat to Burkina Faso defence in the final, where he grabbed the two goals that earned the Eaglets the WAFU U17 Trophy.

• Jeremiah OlaCB) - He was solid at the back for Nigeria, and was able to control his area.
