By Emmanuel Oladele - The story of Former Zimbabwe Footballer Thomas Langu Sweswe as continue to trend on several media platform for the past few years, on the subject matter, "90 Minutes of Action without Touching the Ball," how could that be possible?
Some media platform alleged that the 40-year-old played an entire 90 minutes in a Kaizer Chiefs game and never touched the ball, which many described as one of the records that may never be broken in Football history.
Nigfooty.com in an interview with the former Kaizer Chiefs defender revealed that the claims are never true, it was a cooked story with a personal agenda. According to Thomas Sweswe, "those are lies, there is no way a player could play a match worse, its professional football. Whoever is behind is just someone with a personal agenda I don't know how and he never mentioned which game I played, I stopped playing for Chiefs in 2012 why coming up with the story today," Langu said.
"I always laugh when most people send me asking if it's true that a whole 90 minutes wihout touching the ball, how psossible is that?
Now am back home in Zimbabwe working as the Secretary General for Footballers Union of Zimbabwe" Thomas Langu Sweswe added.
Thomas Langu Sweswe is a former Zimbabwe International, a defender, he played for Manning Rangers, Kaizer Chiefs, Wits and Black Leopards - South Africa, Highlanders, Dynamos and ZPC Kariba - Zimbabwe. He retired from football at the age 35 in 2017 and the last club he played for, was ZPC Kariba of Zimbabwe, he's currently 40.
