Chukwueze's Goal sends Bayern out of UEFA Champions League

By Emmanuel Oladele - Super Eagles of Nigeria Forward Samuel Chukwueze on Tuesday got a late equaliser for his side Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League Quarter-Final second leg in Munich. The Nigerian International scored in the 88th from Moreno's effort to level the game for the Spanish side.

Recall that the first leg of the encounter ended 1-0 in Spain and in favour of Villarreal last week.

In Tuesday's game, the first half ended goalless. But in the second half, Bayern were the first to found the back of the net via a superb strike from Robert Lewandowski in the 52nd minute. In just two minutes to the end of 90 minutes, Villarreal got the equaliser as Samuel Chukwueze managed to put the ball past Manuel Neuer. Chukweze replaced Coquelin in the 84th minute and scored in the 88th minute.

After the second leg fixture, Villarreal won with 2-1 on aggregate. The Yellow Submarines have now progressed to semi-final for the second time in the history of the club and Bayern have failed to advance from the quarter-final stage for two consecutive season.

In another game played on Tuesday, Chelsea defeated Real Madrid by 3-2, but Madrid progressed with 5-4 on aggregate scoreline.
