Frankfurt who had Brazilian defender Tuta sent off in the 78th minute had taken the lead immediately after the half time with Ansgar Knauff curling a long-range shot into the top corner. However the Catalans fought back to get a well deserved equaliser through Ansgar Knauff who combined well with Frenkie de Jong for a tapped in, that left the game at 1-1 draw at the end of the normal time.
The second leg fixture will now hold on Thursday 14th April, 2022 at Camp Nou, Barcelona must win the second leg by at least 1-0 to advance into the semi-final as away goal is not applicable at this stage.
